The Bad Movie
Here's another "buddy" comic, starring Squirrel and my good buddy, Dave.
Regular readers (hi Mom, and two or three others) will recall that Dave is a serious film buff, particularly in the genre of horror, and you can read his thoughts and reviews on the topic at his blog Bloody Terror. His most recent blog post, as of this posting, is actually about the PEI Art Scene, and quite thoughtful and touching.
Dave also does a regular monthly comic in the local PEI arts rag, The Buzz called And Yet I Blame Hollywood. When I include Dave in my comics, I try to draw him the way he appears in his own comic. At least, I started drawing him the way he used to draw himself. I think both of our styles have gradually drifted from the originals, as comic artists tend to let happen.
Anyway, Dave and I do things together IRL, and will often look at each other and say, "This would make a great comic!"

Art appreciation
Here we go with another comic homage to my dear friend, Dave. Regular readers (hi Mom! And two or three others) will know that I get Dave into these comics once in a while because (a) we do comic-worthy activities together IRL, and (b) he was the guy who not only kicked my butt into getting this webcomic started, he helped me get it up and running, and is responsible for the groovy blog layout you are enjoying right now. He is also a comic creator of the monthly comic, "And yet I blame Hollywood", which appears in The Buzz, blogger of horror cinema at his blog Bloody Terror, and creator of music, art, film, short fiction writing, and theatre. What a guy!
Today's comic, "Art appreciation", is based on me and Dave and a real visit to a real art gallery, but highly exaggerated for comic reasons. Dave and I really do appreciate art and art galleries, and although we have some different tastes and preferences, we thoroughly enjoyed the art and the experience.
However, this comic does bring up a point I've been contemplating all my life: What is art? I still haven't figured it out. I go to art galleries all over North America and Europe, and I fancy myself to be a bit of an artist (interested readers can find my humble efforts at Jenzel Art) (very humble efforts! - Ed.), and I have many friends and acquaintances who are professional and amateur artists. And I've had endless conversations with artists and art appreciators asking, "What is art?" and have received a multitude of responses. Is the work of Henri Matisse really art? What about David Shrigley? Maud Lewis? How about comics? Discuss.

That time of year again
Regular readers - all five of you - will know that I like to do the occasional comic homage to my good pal, Dave. When I do, I try to draw him in the style of his fabulous and long-running movie review comic, "And yet I blame Hollywood", rather than as another woodland creature.
Dave, as you may recall, has always been a great supporter of my kooky artistic and creative projects, and helped set up this website for DOAS so I could get Squirrel out of my head and out into the World Wide Web. Thanks again, Dave!
Today's comic homage also premieres Dave's husband, Dave, also drawn in the style of AYIBH.
Welcome to DOAS, Dave! And welcome back, Dave!
P.S. Addendum to this post, later the same day: Interested readers may like to hop on over to Dave's horror movie review blog, Bloody Terror, directly to his post about exactly this very topic posted here titled "This Fucking Movie". Yes, go!

And Yet I Blame Late Night Movies...
More late show scary horror Halloween movie fun with my good friend Dave, of And Yet I Blame Hollywood comic fame, with a completely unexpected ending.
Dave, as regular readers may recall, helped me set up this webcomic blog three and a half years ago (!!!), but he also was an invaluable asset helping me promote my recent solo art show, Well Read: Literature Transformed. One of the books represented in this show was the book Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin, a favourite of both mine and Dave's, on which the fabulous movie was based. As a big thank you to Dave for his help, I am giving him the Rosemary's Baby ceramic mask from the show.

And Yet I Blame Giallo
Here we go with another tribute to my pal Dave and his fabulous monthly comic, And Yet I Blame Hollywood. Regular readers will remember that Dave helped me set up this webcomic three and a half years ago (!!!) and continues to be a big support. He also encouraged me to explore his beloved world of horror cinema this week, setting the stage for this week's True Story comics.
Thanks again, Dave!

And yet I blame Fellini - part 1
Dave and I went to see Fellini's 8 1/2 at City Cinema last week, and this is what happened: a play in three acts.
Dave, as I'm sure regular readers of this strip (hi Mom) will recall is my pal who helped set me up with this webcomic, designing its layout and giving me the kick in the arse I needed to get it out of me head and onto the World Wide Web. I like to thank him with little homage comics like this every now and then. He also has his own wildly successful comic, And Yet I Blame Hollywood, which runs monthly in The Buzz. He also has a fabulous horror movie blog, Bloody Terror . Check it all out!

And yet I blame Hollywood... Again!
Today's post is another homage to my great buddy and comic comrade, Dave Stewart, who does, among many other creative things, a monthly comic for the PEI arts and happenings paper, The Buzz. Dave is also responsible for helping me get this webcomic off the ground, for which I am so very grateful.
Thanks again, Dave!
